Obituary of George Edwin Geiger

George Edwin (Ed) Geiger, Jr. 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Carole; children Linda Geiger (Malcolm) Denemark, Steven (Laura), Mark (Nancy), and Karen (John) Dodzweit; grandchildren Shawn, Haley, Dustin, Nathan, Helena, Kaley, and Alyssa; and sisters Anna Sielaff and Pauline King. He is predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Eleanor (nee Balk), and his parents George and Pauline. George was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Baltimore City College and attended Peabody Conservatory of Music. After retiring from the advertising sales department of the Baltimore Sun Newspaper, his love of tropical weather and surroundings brought him and Eleanor to Florida, where he stayed busy as a successful real estate agent. George also enjoyed home renovations, seafood, airplanes, boating, baseball, and Jeopardy, but most of all he was devoted to his family and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 31 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 525 Minutemen Causeway, Cocoa Beach, followed by an informal gathering of family and friends in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Salvation Army.
