Obituary of Joan Pauline Allen

Joan P. Allen, 84, died Monday, November 2, 2015. She was born August 14, 1931 in Wildwood, New Jersey. Joan is survived by her sons James Lynn Shelton, Gary L. Shelton, and Barry E. Shelton; daughters Carol A. Lewis, Bette Findley, and Norma J. DeMott; sister Dorothy Hartman; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband Ernest Allen. Joan enjoyed crafts, puzzles, and history. She was president of the Fort White Historical Society and a member of High Springs Historical Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy (Olustee Chapter), and CSO (Citizen Support Organization) for Ichetucknee and Dudley Farm State Parks.In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Joan’s name may be made to VITAS HealthCare, 4450 West Eau Gallie Boulevard, #250, Melbourne, FL 32934.
