Obituary of Lois J. Orwig
Lois “Billie” Orwig passed peacefully Monday, February 9, 2015 with her family at her side. Born in Greensburg, PA, she grew up singing with her sisters as The McElhoe Sisters. The group made records, performed live on the radio, TV and at numerous venues while traveling across the northeast to the mid-west.
She started a family in 1952 and became a full time mom as well as working as a medical records secretary. She was the director of medical records at North Hills Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh from 1964 until moving to Florida in 1979 where she worked as the assistant director of medical records & as a medical secretary in pathology at Holmes Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 1996.
She is survived by her children Paul (Linda) Orwig of Omaha, Mark (Karen) Orwig of Pittsburgh, Kimberlee Orwig of Palm Bay, Tamara (Ed) Tarbell of Palm Bay & Kerri (David) Connell of Melbourne; grandchildren Charisa Player, Preston Orwig, Philip Orwig, Kimberlee Knoche & nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Philip McElhoe, mother Beatrice McElhoe and sister Nancy Beam.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Ammen Family Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay. Celebrating the service will be Rev. Robert Bruckart, Holmes Regional Medical Center Chaplain.
