Obituary of Patrick Smithwaite Gorman

Patrick Smithwaite Gorman, age 27, of Melbourne Beach FL, born in Voorhees, NJ on May 1, 1991, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. He was working at Harris Corporation for Con Air Industries of Orlando, Florida. Patrick was enrolled to start fire academy at Eastern Florida State College in August. A 2009 graduate of Melbourne Senior High School, Patrick was captain of their surf team his senior year. A member of BSA Troop 330 in Melbourne Beach, he received the rank of Eagle Scout, with Brass Palms. His eagle project can be seen to beach lovers in Melbourne Beach, identifying street names on all beach access stairs. He is a past member of Seaside Park NJ Volunteer Fire Company #1, Station 45, where he got his love for being the first one in. He was welcomed into the family of the Melbourne Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Station 58, where he became an active volunteer. He is loved and will be missed by his parents, Michael and Mary Beth (Smithwaite) Gorman, his two idols – his older brothers, Wesley (fiancée, Sarah Reed) and Kevin (wife, Lauren). He also leaves his niece, Riley; aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and many fellow fire fighters that considered him one of their brothers. Patrick gave to many in his few years and will continue, having been a organ donor. Services will be at a later date in Seaside Park, New Jersey.
