Uncle Don was a great man. During the times we met he would always encourage me to stay true to myself, my beliefs and follow my dreams. I can say, he somewhat influenced me to join the service (Air Force), along side of my dad. During our conversations, I was fascinated by his stories and places he has served around the world (Matthew 25:40). He got me all excited, knowing what was ahead of me; it was that time, when I visited Uncle Don and Aunt Gina in Florida before my first overseas assignment to Okinawa Japan. We were eating Chinese food and I enjoyed the stories and adventures you both shared to me. He was a good example and witnessed how much he loved Aunt Gina and both their families.
Uncle Don, thank you for living an exciting life and sharing it with me and my family. You inspired me to do my best and what I’ve become. I will miss you, we all will; as for the words of a famous hymn…
“God be with you till we meet again…”
Aunt Gina,
We love you and support you at this time of your life. That love from Uncle Don extends to those people, family and friends; embrace it and you will find peace and comfort from those who surrounds you. My family here in Utah extends our prayers and deepest sympathies.
With sincere love,

We are so sorry in the passing of Cousin Don. We remember of the times spent together the four of us. Either when we were in Florida or when you and Don came to Ohio for his class reunion. You stayed with us at “The Zimmerman Hotel”. Don and I (Paul) shared a common like, we were both only children of our parents. Will miss his smile and his humor and his emails. We would like to thank you for taking such good care of Don all these years and Don was very proud of you and loved you very much. We love you too.

We are saddened by the loss of your devoted husband who cherished his life with you. You brought such joy to his life that even the sound of your laughter would bring a smile to his face. Don often shared with other’s his devotion and love for you as well as letting us know he had found in you the woman who filled his heart with “butterflies” and would kiddingly say, that he was sure you felt the same having him around. When your friends and family shared time with the two of you it was so obvious you were meant for each other. Don will be missed by all of us but we know that he rests in peace because he had the assurance that you are surrounded by your friends and family who will be by your side.
Don was such a brilliant and talented man and served his country with honor and distinction. He loved his family and wanted only the best for them and even during the difficult times all he wanted was to be a loving father and share the love of his family.
Each of us have our favorite memories of Don, be it his laughter, his kidding nature, or merely sharing in some of his brilliant wisdom, of course he never hesitated to share. It is those memories we will hold on to lift our sadness and carry us through. Rest assured as each day passes it will be those loving memories that will always be with you.
We are praying for you.

Condolences to Gina. A few words about best friends for you:
Donald and Delbert Craner were good friends in High School but became “best buddies” in later years. Their emails between Florida and Ohio were never ending.
Don became a history expert and Del became a resource as a medical doctor. They agreed to disagree on politics and had many lengthy email discussions. Among their common interests were golf, airplanes, beer, cars, rifles, and books. Unfortunately Del did not have close access to a Hooters.
Don had a much more developed sense of humor. He once wrote to Del that his Dad advised him not to take life too seriously because he wouldn’t get out of it alive anyway. So Don said his goal was to make people laugh or at least smile. He felt happy if he succeeded.
Don’s friend, Delbert, died in August 2017. It is comforting to know that Don and Del are once again together as best buddies. Their mutual joy and respect will go on forever.

Dear Gina,
My deepest condolences to you on your loss of Don.
I have known Don for a number of years, don’t remember how many but it was back when he came to therapy at FTC in Melbourne (at least 9 years ago).
Don was always friendly and up-beat, a pleasure to be around. I will miss all the conversations we had as well as all the e-mails Don would forward to me and all the Monday lunches we would have at Hooters.
Don, rest in peace and God bless You, I will miss you.

Dear Aunty Gina,
Glad to have talked with you over the phone for a little bit today . I will always remember you and Uncle Don’s visit to Utah with me and my Kuya Reubien. I was only in middle school at that time. You left us christmas presents during your visit. That meant a lot since we were so far away from home at the time. I also remember looking at you and how much you look like my beautiful mom lifted up great sadness being away from her during Christmas.
I’m so sorry for Uncle Don’s passing. Me and my family here in Texas have been thinking of you and praying for your well being and comfort. Also, thank you for being such a great Auntie to my mom during her younger days and today. We love you Auntie Gina.
To my fellow Air Force Veteran Uncle Don, thank you for your lifetime of service here on earth. You have served your family, your country, and your fellow brothers and sisters here on earth as our Lord Jesus Christ did as well and as He commanded us to do. Til we meet again.
LOVE: Jj
