Obituary of Carroll “Budd” Smith

Carroll Vaughn GÇ£BuddGÇ¥ Smith, 87, formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his home in Palm Bay, Florida. He was born July 19, 1927 in Belle Center, Ohio, to the late Fenton and Lois Titus Smith. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Don Smith; four sisters, Mildred, Helen Chambers, Freda Burton and Irma Clingerman; along with a son, Wayne L Smith, a step-son, Donald R Gould, and a grandson, Stephen Gould. Budd was a 1945 graduate of Belle Center High School, and retired in 1996 after 22 years in the banking business and working as a brakeman for the railroad. Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Darlene Eubanks Smith of Palm Bay, FL; a son, Alan (Ellen) Springwind-Smith, Carmichael, CA and a daughter, Tina Smith Houchin, of West Liberty, OH; two step sons, Danny (Carol) Gould, of Melbourne, FL and Michael (Aura) Gould, of Cody, Wyoming; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Pastors Scott Wilson and David Hasker will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 3301 Dairy Road, Melbourne, FL 32904, where visitation with the family will be held beginning at 10:00 am. Arrangements are being handled by Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, in Palm Bay, FL. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780 or to the First Baptist Church of Melbourne Building Fund.
