Obituary of Madeline Morris

9/11/40 – 5/1/19 Madeline (Castracane) Morris, 78, took her last breath here on earth and her first breath in Heaven with Jesus on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Born in Sewickley, PA to Anthony and Carmella Castracane (deceased) on September 11, 1940.  She lived in Coraopolis, PA all her life until she moved to Palm Bay, FL in 2004. THE DASH by Linda Ellis I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning… to the end. He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars… the house… the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that still can be rearranged. To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile… remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you lived your dash?” Let me tell you “Mummitz” Madeline Morris lived her DASH to the fullest! All who knew her LOVED her…even those who only “knew” her through FaceBook by the posts I wrote which included her journey loved her…and what’s not to love with her vibrancy, her huge heart-warming smile and her zest for life…even after she was diagnosed with AML in September 2017 and started chemo…her zest for life multiplied…she never looked more beautiful…she blossomed…there was no whining or self-pity…nor did she want any negativity around her. She LOVED her family…and LIVED a life full of positivity…love…and hope…and…she never lost her sense of humor! Right down to the Monday before her passing when she text a Selfie of laying in the hospital bed to me saying: “guess where I am. In the hospital.” That right there says a lot about this Wonder Woman! Yeah…we ALL say her DASH was SO well-lived! And while she is now in Paradise with Jesus and all her family and friends who have gone before her…she leaves behind on earth her loving husband of 58 years Carl W. Morris, of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Coraopolis, PA; her loving sister Pat and her husband Bob Wagner, of Coraopolis, PA; her loving son Carl A. Morris of Coraopolis, PA; her loving daughter Calla and her husband Dave Hess, of Palm Bay, FL; her loving grandchildren Mallory Hess, and Michael Hess, of Palm Bay, FL and Lucky Morris, of GA; and her loving great-grandson Blake Lopez, of Palm Bay, FL; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and friends. And while we are deeply saddened by the huge void she left in us with her absence here on earth…we are hopeful for the joyous reunion we will one day have…AND…we will continue to live our DASH with the same vibrancy…care…kindness…compassion…and love that she showed us…AMEN And we thank all of you who were continually #prayingformummitz. 2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. There will be no viewing or funeral services at her request. We do ask that you remember her the way you knew her as she lived…and…may her light continue to shine in the darkness.
