Nancy Stouch

Obituary of Nancy Lee Stouch

Nancy Lee Stouch, age 79 entered Heaven’s gates on November 20, 2018.  She was born on September 15, 1939, in Utica, New York.  She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas S. Stouch of 48 years; her parents, Dana Risley and Mary Springer; and her Aunt, Leona Caruso. Nancy moved to Brevard County in 1965 and worked two jobs, one at the Brevard County School board and the other at Mister Donut. It was at Mister Donut where she met her beloved husband, Deputy Tom Stouch, who came in to investigate her stolen purse.  In 2001 Nancy retired from the Brevard County School Board as route manager after over 30 years of service. Words cannot express what a beautiful person Nancy was.  She devoted most of her time and energy to her family with whom she was happiest.  Together they enjoyed traveling, cookouts, cruises, dancing, and singing karaoke.  God blessed Nancy with an angelic singing voice and she could sing a Patsy Cline song like it was Patsy herself.  Nancy was an avid bingo player and marathon shopper (especially sales).  Mom worked miracles when it came to stretching a dollar, particularly in the early years, she was able to work within the tightest of budgets and we never did without.  Nancy was a skilled cook and she would give any chef a run for their money.  Her insatiable love for animals predisposed her to constantly save strays from a situation of deprivation.  She was very giving with a heart of gold. Nancy was the mom of all moms.  She had a special way of keeping the family connected.  Her children she cherished with all her heart and they hers.  She was their best friend, their rock, and their confidant.  Her memories and a part of her will live forever in their hearts.  Nancy was quick-witted, feisty, determined and generous and through her children these traits will live for many generations to come.  She will be missed but in no way will she ever be forgotten. We are all given the gift of life, and one day we all will have to give it back. It is a hard thing to say goodbye to your mom once, let alone twice. It feels like we lost our mom many years ago when this disease made her relinquish all of her beautiful memories and the mom we once knew no longer knew us. Now we have said our final goodbye and even though, metamorphically speaking, we will meet again, joyfully, on the other side, it will be a difficult passage. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Lynne C. Van Eaton and husband Leonard, Debi L. Jodts and husband Fred, Kimberly J. Akins and husband Joe, Kelly Summers and husband Ron, Leslie A. Rothering and husband Mike; son, Robert R. Stouch; 12 Grandchildren; 12 Great grandchildren; brother Robert Risley and wife Jean. A Veterans memorial service will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on January 4, 2019 at 3 p.m., located at 5525 US 1, Mims, FL. Private Celebration of Life to follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to any Animal Rescue Organization.
