Obituary of Richard Lee Demko
Many of us lost a loving and inspiring piece of us on April 22, 2016. We lost a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and friend as he carried many titles. We lost Richard (Rick) to a long, hard 17 year battle to cancer. He was an inspiration to many for the way he fought for so long. He always kept a smile and a positive attitude til his very last days. We will all carry his smile that he left behind with us forever.
Rick served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1997. He was employed at Super Value for 30 years and later with US Steel for 10 years. After he retired he and his wife Rose moved south due to his health. Florida is where he wanted to be.
Rick moved from Pittsburgh, PA and has resided in Palm Bay, FL for almost the last 4 years with his wife, partner, and best friend of almost 30 years, Rose Demko. She was the love of his life.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Rose Demko; son, Joe Demko; son, Stephen Hannen; son, Lee (Heather) Demko; daughter, Leann Demko; daughter, Tina (Larry) Boyd; daughter Hope (Jorge) Salgado; mother, Lois Demko; sister, Janet Balog. He is also survived by his grandchildren that he loved so dearly; Kendalynn Hudgins, TJ Fine, Jr., Jacob Hannen, Megan Fine, Allyson Boyd, C.J. Naber, Elijah Salgado, Izacc Salgado, Quentin Demko, and great grandchildren; Delilah and Troy Hannen. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Demko and his brother, David Demko.
Rick had wishes of being cremated in which his wife has fulfilled . He is now an angel to all of us.
