Obituary of Maxine Lorraine Brasi
Maxine L. Brasi, 94, passed peacefully on February 11, 2018 at 9:45 PM in Melbourne, FL.
She was the last family member of the “Greatest Generation”. The second of 3 girls of Harry and Leona Larimer, she and her older sister, Helen Gean, were a locally renowned child tap dancing team in Chicago, Illinois where they were raised. Her youngest sister Glenda died many years before and was an entertainer too, singing with a ukulele. Later Glenda was a mother of two and a important volunteer in her community. As Maxine grew up, she would become a beautiful red headed model for fashion clothing and shoes. Because she was so small, she could fit into their samples. Maxine was a career woman during the sixties and seventies becoming a mentor for her nieces. She became, owner of a Beauty Salon and was a highly accomplished stylist. She also owned a Wig Salon. She was married two times. Her second husband died of cancer. Aunt Gean was a wife and mother of two children. Later in life, she and her sister, Helen Gean, lived and did everything together in the Melbourne, Florida area for over 30 years. The two were known as the “Sisters” in their neighborhood. Her beloved sister, Gean, passed away in 2009.
She was a proud Aunt to 3 Nieces, (Maxine Boersma, Robin Earp , & Ronda Lane) and 1 Nephew, (Eddie Stucky) . She also was survived by 4 Grand Nieces, 1 Grand Nephew and 3 Great Grandchildren. We will miss her smile, witt, and humor. God rest her soul.
Maxine was a nature and animal lover all her life, especially cats. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Humane Society of South Brevard at :
