Obituary of Candra Lynn Dean

~ Palm Bay ~ March 22, 1968 ~ June 4, 2018 Candra Lynn Dean ,50, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. She was surrounded by family. Candra was born in Wellsville New York in March 1968. She was the oldest of many cousins from both of the Handrahan and Dean families. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Prescott, Arizona, where she graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High School. Just prior to moving she was blessed with a baby sister Shannan. In 1991 her family moved to Palm Bay, Florida where she attended Brevard Achievement Center in Rockledge for many years and recently transfered to Rivers Edge in Palm Bay. Throughout her life she participated in Special Olympics competing in bowling, swimming, and track and field. She was a strong competitor. She was so proud of her gold medals she won. But she was even prouder when her sister Shannan, asked her to be her maid of honor. She rose to the occasion in style. Candra loved swimming and dancing and never passed up a chance to play games at her grampa’s rec hall at Breezy Point or any other game rooms she would happen upon. Pool and ice hockey were her games. After moving to Florida she became an avid gator fan and of course a great Tim Tebow fan.Candra had an adventurous spirit and found herself herding cows on a dirt bike, climbing to the peak of a barn roof, bear hunting in the gator, driving the lawnmower up a telephone pole, saving her sister from a rattlesnake encounter, riding roller coasters at Universal Studios, reeking havoc on bumper cars and sailing the sky in a hot air balloon. To know Candra was to love her completely. She felt that and gave it back to us many times over. Sometimes we would laugh, sometimes we would cry but we always knew we had someone very special with us. Her family includes Mom Suzi, Dad Bill, Sister Shannan and brother in law Rusty as well as many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and special friends. “As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you, As you brushed against this world so gently, you lifted us.” T.C Ring
