i met joe about 5 years ago and took a father figure in him. i enjoyed all his talks about being a cop and laughed with him when he told me those shouldn’t be told ones.i never had the pleasure of fishing with him i was suppose to go out with him and Jimmy after Jimmy fixed his boat ( another funny story ) I would call Joe when i needed that advice he always gave and when i got in an accident and couldn’t reach Jimmy. i still have the picture of when my dog Harley Davidson went to their house and met the cat. I will always remember the fun times we spent visiting him and Carol. God bless you joe till we meet again and when we do let’s go fishing

Joe, it has been such an honor to get to know you over the past couple years. You were such a caring, kind, and selfless man. Your passion and love for your family, friends, and work were an inspiration to so many, myself included. I’ll never forget the time we shared…listening to your stories, looking through your photographs, laughing when the boat got stuck in the St. John’s river and Ian had to get out and push us through the mud…those were moments I’ll treasure for a lifetime. Thank you Joe, for all you have done for Ian and I. I promise that I will help take care of Carol…we already have plans to go fishing and to the theatre, and though I know she loved your sense of humor the most, I’ll do my best to make sure she keeps laughing. Rest easy Joe, you will not be forgotten.

Joe Escher was a fantastic friend. Joe was selfless and thought of others before he thought of himself. “Don’t let the little stuff get to ya Johnny” he always told me. Joe left a legacy here in the short amount of time he served in Melbourne that will last a lifetime. Joe made a real difference in my life and I will always treasure my memories of him.

Rest in peace, Joe. Know that your time on earth was spent impacting others in a positive way. Whether it was comforting those who were in need, or protecting the innocent from the bad, your life was spent protecting and you did a wonderful job. Although you will be missed, you have left a big footprint to be used as a reflecting point and a path to follow.
Rest easy.

Rest easy brother. I always admired your guidance and loved hearing stories you would share. Without a doubt your input has made me a better officer and I have passed that knowledge on to others. I think of you often, and I carry a part of you with me when I put on my uniform. I know you have impacted many in a positive way, and you will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you. Knowing you and knowing your faith, I have found comfort in knowing you are no longer in pain, and that God welcomed you home into His presence. You are going to be missed.

Rest well, my elder, my brother, my friend. Your journey has been long and arduous but the lives you’ve touched have been many. I miss you. But I’m comforted by the fact that you can look in on me any time you’re not taking in the great wonders of the world from your vantage point. I love you and will always think of you fondly. May God bless you and keep. Until we meet again. You ardent admirer,
Byron
