Obituary of Roland Raymond Lambert
Roland Raymond Lambert +óGé¼+ôRay+óGé¼-¥, 82, passed peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in West Melbourne, Florida on Sunday, January 3, 2016.
Born January 7, 1934 in Lowell, MA, Ray was one of five siblings born to Albert Lambert and Marie Anne (Bibeault) Lambert. His working career started at RCA Corporation in Burlington, MA, and over the years he held a number of different positions at several other high tech companies, including Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH, and Dictaphone Corporation in Melbourne, FL.
Raymond Lambert proudly served his Country as a member of the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran.
In 1996, he retired from Dictaphone after working sixteen years as an Engineering Technician in the Custom Systems Division. While working at Dictaphone, coworkers gave him the nickname +óGé¼+ôPop+óGé¼-¥ because he was one of the oldest workers. This nickname stuck and he is still lovingly referred to as +óGé¼+ôPop+óGé¼-¥ by many family members.
Moving to Florida in 1980 was his dream come true. Being in Florida gave him more time to enjoy riding bicycles year round. Biking to work was routine and a daily bike ride continued throughout his retirement years. He was great with electronics and could fix just about anything. He had many other hobbies including riding scooters, music, movies, target shooting, computers, and working around the house and in the yard. In the days, ballroom dancing was his passion. He and his wife, Hilda, both enjoyed many evenings of non-stop dancing.
It didn+óGé¼Gäót take much to make Ray happy. Always generous and kind, he was a man of few needs and wants. He was content with a simple life and remained mentally sharp and physically fit until the very end. He will always be remembered and loved by everyone who knew him and those whose lives he touched. May he forever rest in peace.
He leaves behind a wonderful and loving wife of 20 years Hilda (Eberle) Lambert; son Richard Lambert and Lori Clarke of Merrimack, NH; daughter Donna (Lambert) Lang and husband James of California, MD; stepson Charles Eberle of Knoxville, TN; stepdaughter Julie (Eberle) Wolf and husband Gary of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren Alicia (Lang) Gronseth and husband Jamie of California, MD, Ricky Lang of California, MD, and Kimberly (Wolf) Murphy and husband Grant of Melbourne, FL.
