Obituary of Donald E. Boren
Donald E. Boren, born August 28, 1928, passed away December 11, 2014 at age 86. He was born to Wilmer and Gladys Boren and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He later lived in Buffalo, NY; Santa Monica, CA; Scottsdale, AZ and Melbourne, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Frances Boren; son Randall Boren; daughters Christine and Marcie and their husbands, Jason and Van. He was preceded in death by his sister Mildred.
Donald had a MasterGÇÖs Degree in Oceanography from FIT and a Bachelors in Mathematics and Physics from Trinity University. He worked for Pan Am Aerospace Services as manager for architect-engineering design, Talley Services as President, then later for Pan Am World Services Inc. as President of Pan Am Environmental Services and Chief Operating Officer of Pan Am Computer Systems. He traveled around the world for his work, including Columbia, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. He held a patent for above ground tank testing for Con Edison.
He was a loving husband and father. His hobbies included woodworking, boating and genealogy. He was a prolific reader and enjoyed exploring history, archeology and geology. He was always quick with a smile and a funny saying and even throughout his long battle with AlzheimerGÇÖs he maintained his sense of humor.
