Nancy Seymour Butcher, 89, was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Monday, February 27th, 2017. Beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy was born March 22, 1927, in Hinsdale IL. Growing up, she spent her summers at Palisades Park, MI, where she met her husband, Robert A. Butcher. Marrying at the age of 21, Nancy and her husband maintained a loving and lasting marriage for 61 years and had 4 children. While residing in Nashua, NH, for 14 years, Nancy was active in her community being the president of Christian Women’s Club and leading many Bible Studies. She enjoyed playing golf, swimming, and being a wife and mother. After leaving Nashua, they moved to Maine for 20 years, and eventually moved to Florida to be closer to some of their children and grandchildren. While they lived in Florida, they still continued to spend many happy summers with family at their cottage on Bailey Island, Maine. Nancy was well known for her sense of humor and joyous and encouraging spirit. She continued through her last years maintaining a sweet spirit and showing the love of Christ to everyone she met.
Mourning the loss of her presence here on earth, but celebrating her presence with the Lord, are her four children: Robert A. Butcher, Jr. (NH), Katharine Scribner (KY), Jan Clapp (FL), and Linda Petersen (FL), and eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, William Seymour III (GA), and Richard Seymour (FL).
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Butcher, her parents, and a brother.
