Obituary of Barbara Ann Jackson
Barbara Ann Jackson, age 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2019 with her family by her side. Born in Louisville, KY on September 26, 1943 to Lily Faye Robinson and George Nasief, both whom preceded her in death. Barbara grew up in Louisville where she met her sweetheart, Paul C. Jackson when she was just 12 years old and married at the age of 17. Barbara and Paul shared a wonderful 27 years together until he preceded her death in 1988.
Barbara never knew a stranger. Kind to the core of her soul and with prodigious strength, she was a woman of compassion and spirit. Barbara held many significant roles in her life that were impactful to those around her. From a wife to a mother and grandmother, she was also a “soon to be” Great Grandmother, of which, Emma Ann was named after her. She spent her time caring for and nurturing her loved ones, while instilling perseverance and modesty into those who benefited from her presence. Beautiful inside and out, Barbara spent a period of her life modeling for Alix Adams Modeling Agency and later became a well-known Tarot Card Reader.
She is a mother to two beautiful daughters, Tonya and Cheryl, and a grandmother to three strong young adults, Nicole, Amanda and Nick. Barbara’s unwavering strength was a foundation for her family during many of life’s obstacles, and she continually provided and cared for her loved ones through the duration of her life. Barbara’s compassion extended beyond her own blood. Many can recall a time when Barbara Jackson was there by their side for the good and the bad, to support and to celebrate, whether you were a friend or acquaintance.
While our hearts are heavy for the loss of our dear Barbara, they are also light in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved Paul after 31 years apart. As her family and friends, we cannot thank those enough who have graciously donated towards her memorial and the return of her remains to her hometown, where she can now lie beside her soulmate and husband.
Barbara is survived by her loving and dedicated family, to include her daughters, Tonya Jackson Deckard and Cheryl Jackson Stutler. Son-in-law Bill Stutler; granddaughter Tonya Nicole Jackson; granddaughter Amanda Lynn Deckard, great-granddaughter Emma Ann, grandson-in-law Ryan Cross; grandson Richard Paul Nicholas Deckard and granddaughter-in-law Vanessa Brimhall Deckard.
