Obituary of Alden John Fant

Alden John Fant, 85, of Melbourne, FL, passed away shortly after meeting his great grandkids for the first time and comforted by his wife on Tuesday September 3, 2019, peacefully in his sleep at Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit in Rockledge, FL after a longtime illness. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 10, at 6pm at Kingdom Hall, 1900 Trimble Rd, Melbourne, FL. After the service family and guests are welcome to join Charlotte at her home for a celebration of Alden’s life. There will be no burial as Alden’s wishes were to be cremated. Alden was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on February 5, 1934. He graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, MA and continued on to serve his country in the United State Navy for 2 years. Alden met his wife Charlotte Dorothy Jarvis of Norwich, CT in 1959 and 2 short years later was married on June 17, 1961; they were married for a long and happy 58 years. Alden worked as a Senior Draftsman in Industrial Manufacturing for Morgan Construction Co. for 20 years. He enjoyed watching hockey- the Boston Bruins, fishing, gardening, spending time with family and cooking. He spent most of his elder years in sunny Florida with his beloved wife and 2 dogs Katie and Heidi and his cat Lovey. Alden is survived by his wife Charlotte Fant (Jarvis) of Melbourne, FL, his daughter Victoria Weaver and her husband Bruce of Titusville, FL, his granddaughter Krista Demers and her husband Daniel of Burrillville, RI and their 5 children Travis, Logan, Natalie, Gabriel and Katryna, his grandson Jeremy Weaver of Bellingham, MA and his daughter Lillian, his brother Allan Fant and his wife Donna and their children and grandchildren, his sister Evelyn Elander and her late husband Howard and their four daughters and grandchildren, his adoptive daughter Gina Jenkins and her late husband Richard and their two sons Dalton and Cole and his daughter Amelia, and many other family and friends. Alden is preceded in death by his parents Reginald and Maria (Hellstrom) Fant, and two of his brothers Carl and Albin Fant.
