Obituary of Mary Kaye Martin

Mary Kaye Martin almost 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Grant with family by her side, on March 1, 2018. She was born in Clay, WV to Alexander H. Summers and Hattie Young Summers. Mom taught grades 1– 8 in a one room school in Blue Knob, WV before the family moved to Eau Gallie in 1958. She then taught school in Brevard County for over 25 years. She was a former member of the John Young Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Charleston, WV. Left to honor and remember her in life are her daughter Hattie (Jack) Eschenberg; son Charles (Deborah) Martin; sister JoAnn (Jack) S. Carney and special nephew James (Gail) Miller. She was blessed to have 6 grandchildren John Eschenberg, Diane Eschenberg, Kathrine E. Herman, Tiffany M. Redders, Summer M. Lilly and Michelle M, Pursley, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael P. Martin and son Michael P. Martin III. No services will be held per her wishes. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wallback, WV later in the year. Hattie and Charlie would like to thank her caregivers: Renae, Dean, Kelsey, Shelly, Jenny and Jeanne. Also, thanks to Health First Hospice (Dr. Ruis, Sheila, Nikkita, Joanna and John) and all others for all their care and kindness during this long journey.
