Obituary of Frank John Deutsch
Retired CW02 Frank John Deutsch, passed away at William Child’s Hospice House on May 7, 2017.
Born April 16, 1928 in West Haven, Connecticut.
Frank retired from the United States Army after 23 years of honorable service. He was stationed in St. Louis, during World War II then transferred to France, El Paso, Korea, and Wurzburg, Germany. He retired from Homestead AFB and moved to Brevard County. He was a master optician and worked with Dr. Julian Saxe for a few years prior to opening Beach Opticians in Cocoa Beach for 15 years.
In his free time Frank was an avid golfer, and he played and won many tournaments. He never met a golf course he didn’t love. He was an active member of AA for 34 years.
Frank is survived by his 3 children; daughter, Donna Melchi, Denise (Mike) Groat and son Joseph Deutsch; 5 grandsons, Ryan, Craig, and Kevin Groat, Mitchell Hyman and Michael John Deutsch.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Elizabeth “Kelly” Deutsch.
He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a viewing from 11am till the Funeral Mass at noon at Holy Name Of Jesus Catholic Church, 3050 North Highway A1A, Indialantic on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
Frank will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors at 9am on Monday, May 15, 2017.
