Obituary of Mary Jane West

Mary Jane West of Valkaria, Florida passed away peacefully early Monday morning, May 21st, 2018. She is survived by her daughter Jana Galluccio and husband Michael; 5 grandchildren Cara Melachrinos and husband Michael, Cody West, Michael Galluccio II and wife Ashley, Christopher West, Nicholas West and wife Kaitlyn; 7 great grandchildren, and her sister Betty Sue Hinson. Her husband Bobby Jene West, mother and father J.V. and Grace Dunn, son Bobby Jene West II, an infant son and four brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Mary Jane was born in Cedar Hill, Tennessee on September 9th, 1935. She attended Springfield High School and was on the basketball team. She met the love of her life at a basketball game and married Bobby on April 18th, 1954. She became a mother to her daughter Jana in 1959 and later to her son Bobby in 1964.  The couple moved to Brevard County in November of 1964.  She balanced her time over the years between her home and working for Harris Corporation as a Security Specialist. She enjoyed her job and retired after 20 years in 2007. After she retired, she began to enjoy her life caring for her husband and loving on her family. She also developed a passion for making quilts and sewing outfits for an orphanage in Haiti. A memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church in Melbourne, Florida on Thursday, May 31st at 10am, friends are welcome.
