Obituary of Percy Albert Byram
Percy Albert Byram, age 90 of Palm Bay, Florida passed peacefully at home on Sunday, October 14, 2018.
Percy was born on March 24, 1928 to the late Howard and Ozithee (Gagnon) Byram in Grand River, New Brunswick, Canada. He married Jeannette Nadeau on September 9, 1952 and to this union six children were born.
He is most known for his love of hockey, being the ultimate hockey dad, along with having the biggest heart and the loudest voice in the room. He walked 5 miles a day, every day, for as long as he could.
Percy ate oatmeal for breakfast and had 2 molasses cookies with hot tea after lunch and supper everyday. He was a creature of habit and every single day, without fail, he kept his word, was on time, worked hard, cared about his family first, had a story to tell and made you feel like the most important person in the world, whether you’ve known him for years, or just one day.
We will all miss his laughter and advice, the sparkle in his eyes and the glass full of four leaf clovers on the window sill….along with everything else about him.
In Canada and Island Falls, Maine he was a Lumberjack by trade. When he moved to Manchester, Connecticut he was a Landscaper. He worked for Case Brothers and Purdy Corporation. In 1990 he retired to Northwest Palm Bay, Florida.
Percy is survived by his wife of 66 years; daughter, Carol Schober of Melbourne FL; daughter, Anne Dumont of Mansfield Center CT; son, Philip Byram of Windham CT; daughter, Yvette Saucier of Ashford Ct; son, Galen Byram of Coventry CT; sister, Valeda Bouchard of Belview FL sister, Evelyn Couillard of Quebec Canada; brother, Roland Byram of Quebec Canada; brother Delmer Byram of Quebec Canada; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marilyn; brothers, Nelson, Amos, Wilfred and Wilbur; sisters, Rose Dube, Pauline Bellefleur, and Anita Massey.
