Obituary of Mieko Aride

Mieko Aride (Pyle), age 90, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Wuesthoff Hospice House surrounded by her daughters and granddaughter. She was born on February 1, 1928 to the late Ryiuchi Aride and Kino Ogawa.
She was an avid bowler, bowling in leagues and tournaments until the age of 82. She loved to draw, color and paint – cats being her favorite draw; loved playing the organ, often recording music for family and friends to enjoy. She loved all animals and had a special bond with Big Bird; he would sit on her shoulder and dance while she played the organ, she even taught him Japanese. She could Jitterbug like no other. She taught Japanese to executives at General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler before moving to Florida in 1997.
Mieko is survived by her daughters Ami (Jeff) Kulesus and Anna Jones; grandchildren Richard (Marci) Kulesus, Loren Kulesus, Jeffrey Kulesus, Michael Kulesus, Erin Kulesus and Stephen Pyle; and great grandchildren Logan, Elisabeth, Gavin, and Sam Kulesus; Makaela, Shay, and Nathan Pyle.
