Obituary of George Daniel Hoffman
George D. Hoffman passed away peacefully Saturday Feb. 8th, at Sterling House in West Melbourne, with his wife Nina by his side. He was 79 years old.
George was born in Bay Shore Long Island, NY to the late George L. Hoffman and the late Lillian B. (Cadieux) Hoffman. He graduated from Kings Park High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958.
George served as a volunteer fireman with the Kings Park Fire Dept. for 7 years. He was employed by AIL in Deer Park, Long Island for 31years, where he met his wife Nina. They retired to West Melbourne, FL in 1993.George belonged to the Knights of Columbus for 60 years, and was active in the K of C Father Gabriel Council #3746 for the past 21 years. He served as Grand Knight in 2001. George and Nina enjoyed going to dinner, cruises and taking road trips.
He is preceded in death by his sister Elaine in 2005, and leaves behind his loving wife Nina of 47 years, his niece and nephew Debbie Meyering and David Renfrew of California and their families. Also a thank you to neighbors Richard & Carla Curry for their many kind deeds, and to the nurses at Vitas Innovative Hospice for their wonderful care.
