She was born in Bloomington, Illinois on September 17, 1946 to the late Henry and Thelma (Sidebottom) Moncelle. She is survived by her spouse Richard Dogaer; son Jared Dogaer; grandson Tristan Dogaer; sister in law Nina Dogaer; nephew John Dogaer; niece Andrea Dale; niece Elizabeth Polomik; brother Randall “Steve” Moncelle, along with various family members in Illinois, California and Florida. Bonita was an artist and art instructor.
