Obituary of Philip G Azeredo

Philip G Azeredo 87, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday August 21, 2015. He was born in Fall River Massachusetts in December 1927. Philip enlisted into the service to his country in April 1946 and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant with the United States Army. Philip also enlisted in the Florida National Guard in April 1964 as a member of the HHC 50th Area Support group in Jacksonville, Florida retiring in December 1987. Phil is a Life Member of the Satellite Beach Florida Post 4643 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Life member of the Eau Gallie Post 163 American Legion. Philip also had a distinguished civilian career as a manager and trainer for line support for Bell South and later AT&T. His civilian career began in Palm Beach County, ended in Jacksonville and Phil retired back to his then home in Eau Gallie. In retirement Philip developed his love of collectables by creating the Indian River Stamp Company where he and his wife became not only avid antiques collector by also an antique dealer. In search of antiques Phil and Phyllis became active members of the State and National Airstream Club where they extensively traveled the nation together. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Phyllis (Rotterman) of Melbourne , his son Daniel Azeredo and his wife Dee of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, his Daughter Phyllis Shreffler and her husband Joseph of Cartersville Georgia. Phil is preceded in death by his son Manuel Azeredo. Philip is also survived by two step daughters Bonnie Stelzer of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Barbara Simmons and her husband Jon of Ladson, South Carolina. Philip was known as grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Arrangements by Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Palm Bay, 321-724-2224. Visitation hours will be Wednesday August 26, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm at the Ammen Family Funeral Home on Malabar road in Palm Bay. Graveside Services will be held 11:30 Thursday August 27, 2015 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
