Obituary of Andrea Fernandez

Andrea Fernandez Barcena died on July 20th 2015 after a long battle with gallbladder cancer. Andrea is survived by her husband, Hector Fernandez, her daughter, Sisy Fernandez, her sons, Osmany Barcena, Miguel Barcena, and Daniel Rodriguez, and her nephews, Angel, Damaris, and Damian Padron, Jonathon and Angel Barcena, Alejandro and Isabella Barcena. She was a beloved wife, protective mother and loving grandmother. Andrea was born on Nov. 30, 1949 in Habana, Cuba to father Ramon Barcena Borrell and mother Guillermina Rozqueza Diaz who predeceased her. She grew up in a large family with 12 brothers and sisters all of whom remain in Cuba with the exception of Eugene Barcena which is in Florida. The journey of life was not an easy one for her. We will never forget her stories and her struggles to give her family a better life. Everything she did, she did for her family. She is the true definition of mother. Andrea met her spouse in Cuba in 1978. They moved to the United States in 1980 with their 3 children. They married in Florida on December 29th 1997. Their love can never be measured for it is an eternal love. The unbearable loss that we feel will never be replaced. She was the brightest light in the darkest room. She was beautiful. She was beautiful for the way she thought. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile even when she was sad. Her constant smile will always and forever remain in our hearts. She will be deeply missed.
