Obituary of Connie Suarez
Melbourne- Connie Suarez, 90, passed away on May 12, 2018.
Connie was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 14, 1927 to parents Jose & Elvira Carnero.
She is pre-deceased by her younger sister Sabina Yglesias of Rockville Center, New York and is survived by her older brother John Carnero of Massapequa, New York.
Connie met and married her loving husband Carlos in October 1953. They spent 55 years happily married before Carlos’ death in 2009. Connie raised three children in Brooklyn, New York until 1975 when the family moved to Ridgewood, New Jersey and eventually moved to Satellite Beach, FL in 1981. Connie helped with the family restaurant business as well as maintained a career in education at BCC in Bergen County New Jersey and later at BCC in Brevard County at both the Cocoa and Melbourne Campuses.
Connie devoted countless volunteer hours to various groups such as Satellite Beach Women’s Club, Brevard Apple Corp, Homes Regional Auxiliary, Spanish/American Club, American Culinary Federation, IHB Moose Club, AARP and The King Center for the Preforming Arts.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her family includes her son, David Suarez and his wife Michele Rivera-Suarez of Chicago, IL; daughter Joan Suarez of Melbourne, FL; daughter Elizabeth Suarez-Hazelgrove and her husband John Hazelgrove of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, John Hazelgrove and Kelly Kroupa.
Services are scheduled for 3pm, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care located at 1001 Hickory Street Melbourne, FL.
