Obituary of Joseph P. Scafidi

Melbourne Joseph P. Scafidi, 68, passed away on April 25, 2018. He was born on June 4, 1949 in New York to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Criscuolo) Scafidi. Joseph was known for many things, such as his love for animals, sitting in the sun tanning, and of course his wild mustaches. You could also always count on him to be on time, being punctual to him meant arriving 20 minutes before. While spending time with his friends in AA meetings, he was given the nickname “Saturday Night Joe”. Everyone who knew Joe also knew of his love for food. If there was a record for the fastest consumption of food he would have held the title. Joe spent many years caring for both of his parents. He also had an excellent memory and often had to help his sister with things she could no longer remember. There was no doubt that he loved his family and friends greatly. He is survived by his sister and brother in law JoAnne and Ronald Deshaies; nephew and daughter Tom and Lorelei Dutton; niece, husband and daughter Trice, Len and Breanna Maggio; niece and son Lisa and Geovonni Pena; nephew and daughter Chris and Hailey Woods. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care 1001 S. Hickory St., Melbourne 321-724-2222
