Obituary of June Funicello
June (Jayne) Funicello a loving homemaker and former resident of Macedon, passed away in Melbourne, FL on March 11 surrounded by family.
Jayne was born in England on June 29, 1928, A free spirited young lady, she traveled Europe, always learning about new places and doing the best she knew to do “be outgoing and a loving friendly person” While backpacking in Europe he met her beloved husband Frank (backpacking as well) in a youth Hostel in Italy.
Jayne moved to America in 1960 raising three sons (Kevin, John and Craig) with her husband Frank (from Ellington NY) on Olympus Drive in Macedon. They moved to Sebastian Florida in 1989 to enjoy their retirement years.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law’, Kevin and Carrie of Port St. Lucie, John and Nancy of Palm Bay, FL, Craig and Lorena of Luray, VA, five grandchildren Rodney, Kevin, Katelyn, Daniel and Carl, as well as two great grandchildren Kasey and Jiovanni. Mom was a loving person who fought for justice and people doing the right thing, she always smiled in the most difficult times. She always put everyone first, even if she needed something she would not ask because she did not want to inconvenience anybody.
There will be a ceremony this July to inter her remains next to her husband Frank at Valley View Cemetery in Ellington, NY.
Her sons invite all of her friends and family for the burial ceremony and to celebrate her beautiful and shining life. More details will be posted closer to the burial date.
