Obituary of Margarita Alvarez

Palm Bay- Margarita Alvarez, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 peacefully at William Childs Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of Gilberto Alvarez. They shared 63 years of marriage. A former resident of New York and Connecticut, she moved to Palm Bay in 2002. She was a homemaker and former daycare director. She loved to play golf with her husband, Gilberto, and take walks at Turkey Creek Sanctuary with her family. Gardening was a favorite pastime. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. A loving and devoted mother, her family includes her daughter Doris Cordero of Nyack, NY; daughter Nancy Newman and her husband, Michael of Medway, MA; grandchildren Chelsea, Courtney, Zachary and Troy. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29th, from 9:30am to 10:15am at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Rd SE, Palm Bay, FL. Funeral service immediately following at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock St NE, Palm Bay, FL. Interment to follow at 2:30pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1 North, Mims, FL 32754. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Margarita Alvarez.
