Obituary of Joseph J. Stoczynski

Joseph J. Stoczynski died on Dec 26, 2019, at Riverview Senior Resort in Palm Bay, Florida, after a prolonged illness. He was 97. Born in Buffalo, New York, in 1922, he joined the Navy in 1942 served in the Pacific during WWII. After his discharge from the Navy in 1945, he became a candy maker and founded the Park Edge Sweep Shoppe in South Buffalo, where it has been open for 72 years. After he retired in 1984, he and his wife moved to Palm Bay, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, the former Josephine Kondrasky, who worked alongside him in the candy store. They had two daughters, Cheryl Selig (Arthur) and Ellen Jo Pergeorelis (Klaus), 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Buffalo.
