Obituary of Michael David Jones

Michael David Jones, age 60, of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on May 21, 2019.

 

He was born February 27, 1959 in Eau Gallie, Florida to Wilma Jean Jones and Roosevelt Virgil Jones.

 

Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving the USS PYRO AE-24, United States Navy Ammunitions Ship, his duties: Fireman, Machinist. He served his country honorably, and was highly respected by his fellow sailors for his skills and sense of humor. After serving in the Navy, he worked as a machinist most of his life.

 

Michael was predeceased by his father, Roosevelt V. Jones and his step-father, Glenn C. Reece.

 

He is survived by his mother, Wilma Jones Reece; sister, Deborah J. Jones (Jay Ritchie); step-brothers, Glenn C. Reece, Jr., Gary W. Reece (Sandra), Mark T. Reece (Susan); uncles, David Jones (Sissy), Chris Jones (Sharon); Aunt, Shirley Hart (Steve).

 

Michael is best remembered for his kind, generous heart and trusting nature.

 

He loved animals, especially his cats. He also enjoyed the ocean, fishing, water skiing, and beach combing the Treasure Coast of Sebastian Inlet for silver and gold coins.

 

Michael will be greatly missed.
