Obituary of Katharine Carroll Wallace

Katharine Carroll Wallace, 92, passed away September 10, 2014 at her home in Melbourne, Florida. She was born in Washington, D.C. In 1921 to Penn Leary Carroll, CDRE, USN (RET) and Marybelle Hobson Carroll. Katharine is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Kenneth C. Wallace, RADM, USN (RET) of Melbourne, Florida; sons, Kenneth C. Wallace, Jr. of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Robert C. Wallace of Austin, Texas, Thomas C. Wallace of Edgartown, Massachusetts and John P. Wallace of Melbourne, Florida; many grandchildren and an increasing number of great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Eleanor Hobson Carroll, who turned 100 on September 11, 2014. She was predeceased by her brother, Peyton Carroll and her great-grandson, Wyatt Carroll Lewis Wallace. A memorial service will be held at Colony Hall at the Indian River Colony Club, 1936 Freedom Drive, Viera, Florida on September 21, 2014 at 3:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association or the March of Dimes.
