Obituary of Dennis James Snyder

Dennis James Snyder, 57, of Rockledge, FL died at 5:22pm, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Rockledge Regional Medical Center in Rockledge, FL. He was born October 11, 1960 in Queens, New York, to Pete and Marilyn Snyder. He married Nancy Ann McMahon in Montauk, New York and she survives. Also surviving are his mother Marilyn Hutchison, his son, David Snyder, his daughter Jennifer Snyder; his two brothers Richard Snyder and Tommy Snyder, his two sisters Elizebeth Gruen and Maureen Mooney, and many nieces and nephews. His father Pete Snyder, preceded him in death. Dennis was a man full of love who truly knew no stranger. It was nothing for him to walk up to someone he had never met and have a two hour conversation. Serving in many positions for the Montauk Fire Department, including Chief, Dennis had a major love for the community. After retiring and relocating to Florida in 2016, Dennis made sure to never forget his roots and where he came from. Family meant the world to him, and was standing beside him as he took his final breath. The legacy he leaves behind is something that will not soon fade! Rest easy Big guy, for you will truly be missed. A celebration of life service is scheduled in Far Rockaway, New York proceeding a memorial service from the Montauk Fire Department.
