Obituary of Josette Geraci
Josette Geraci, 69, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016, in Melbourne, FL.
She is survived by brothers Philip F. Zito, Jr., Anthony M. Zito, Sr. and his wife Carolyn, Michael C. Zito and his wife Joanne, son Richard Geraci; daughter Nancy Curti and her husband Mike; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband Sal Geraci on March 13, 2016.
Josette was a very loving, caring, talented woman with a life long passion for family and friends. She was the first of four children born to her adoring parents, Helen and Phillip Zito Sr. She attended Steinert High School in Trenton, NJ and was a member of the graduating class of 1964, the same year her baby brother Michael was born, and her beloved younger brothers, Phillip and Anthony were actively involved in multiple sports.
Josette soon chose to follow in her mother’s footsteps by becoming a hairdresser. With her unique modern style and elegant name, she soon developed a reputation worthy of admission to the Paul Mitchell Academy. After working a few years in her Aunt Josephine’s posh beauty salon in Trenton, NJ which ironically was names +óGé¼+ôJosette’s+óGé¼-¥ she relocated to Margate, NJ. There Josette opened her own shop which soon earned a reputation for it’s name, “A Cut Above”.
During this time in the mid 70’s, she found her soulmate and partner for life, Salvatore Geraci. From the moment they met and throughout their life together, Josette and Sal were inseparable, adding spirit and laughter to every occasion. In their later years, they chose to settle in Palm Bay, FL to be near their family.
Josette passed away with a deep commitment to her faith and found a rejuvenated purpose in becoming an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Palm Bay, FL. Josette was a beautiful person inside and out, and will be in our hearts forever! She will be remembered for her unconditional love of family (including her closest friends), but most of all, her love of the occasions that brought us together.Her Funeral Mass has been planned for Saturday, August 13 at 1 pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, FL.
