Obituary of Joan M. Thomas

Joan M. Thomas, 82, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2014 at Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was a Brevard resident for 27 years. Joan was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She was a loving mother and devoted herself to her children, grandchildren and family. She also dearly loved the company of her many friends and delighted in sharing a good joke. Joan was a devout Christian and served many years as a Stevens Minister at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Indialantic. She is survived by her son Dr. Bruce J. Thomas II (Susan), her grandchildren Ryan Thomas (Sara), Kyle Thomas (Ximena), Kelly Degnan (Jay), and Tim Brown, and her great-grandchildren Savannah Degnan, Nicholas Degnan and R.J. Thomas. Joan is also survived by her niece Kathy Burns. She was preceded in death by her daughter Terri Brown. A memorial service will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Indialantic, Florida on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Interment to follow at the church immediately after the service.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memorium to The Salvation Army, 1080 Hickory Street, Melbourne FL 32901.
