I know people always post positive things about a deceased person, whether its true or ‘buttered up’. For Jim it is genuinely positive, no ‘buttering up’. I know all the positive things people will post, so I will add to theirs my own sentiments about Jim.
For sure, there is nothing Jim cannot fix. A lamp, a car, a boat, a house, a dishwasher, a lawn mower, kids toys, even updated electronics (although its a challenge for him and ever changing micro electronics). Even if he cannot fix it, he knows how it should be done.
For sure, there is nothing Jim cannot cook. He’ll tell you how to prepare it, cook it, what to and when to serve it. On one of my recent trips, I visited a poultry shop in NY that sells live poultry. I purchased 2 ducks, that were plucked and cleaned. One for myself and one for him. He made sure Debbie collected it, because he gave me details on how he would marinate it, freeze it, then thaw it out (where it will be well marinated) and cook it slowly, so all the spices (garam masala, geera, curry powder, bay leaf, clove and spices, etc) will ‘penetrate’ the meat. He said “no pressure cooker, it will mash it up, cook it slowly and add water a little at a time. It will ‘bunjal’ when its done”.
I know this measure of a man will be surely missed. His smile, his explanation on things (cooking or repairing), his elder knowledge on life (present and past, way past) will be missed. His willingness to always want to help anyone. Annette, Debbie, Mark, Tony and grandkids, my prayers are with you. Keep the faith. We all will miss him.

Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our “Uncle Jim”. Our family were fortunate to get to know Jim on many levels and enjoyed his stories about his military service the most! Most recently, he helped me use he and his wife Annette as a cover for our surprise birthday party for my husband who was recovering from cancer. Little did we know we would only have 5 more months with Jim’s smiling face. Our prayers are with all of his family. We share in your sadness and pray for healing hearts and signs from above that he is at home with God.
