Obituary of Karen A. Drouin

Karen A. (Sharameta) Drouin passed away on September 17, 2014 in Palm Bay, Florida. She was born on January 17, 1942 in Southbridge, MA. She resided in Massachusetts and Maine before relocating to Florida in 1996. She was the daughter of Charles P. Sharameta and Catherine (Remillard) Kubert. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald R. Drouin on February 28, 2013 the love of her life, whom she married on September 18, 1963; her son, Paul C. Drouin in 1986 and her brother, Joseph C. Sharameta in 2014. She is survived by brothers, Vincent T. Kubert and his wife Donna of Melbourne, FL, Robert P. Kubert, Sr. and his wife Rita of West Brookfield, MA; her brother-in-law, J.A. Richard Drouin and his wife Lorraine of Auburn, ME and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving Memere to Robert E. Quinn and Cassandra L. Quinn and their children, Cameron J. and Gavin E. Quinn of Palm Bay, FL, and to James Cross and his wife Melinda and their daughter Jamie L. Cross of Melbourne, FL, who brought so much joy and happiness to her life and without whom her life would not have been complete. Karen was a graduate of Husson College in Lewiston, ME, she was employed by Samborski, Rojcewicz, Rojcewicz & Meehan, Attorneys in Worcester, MA as a legal secretary. She retired from Sisters of Charity Health System and St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, ME where she was the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Community Relations and Development. Karen was active in many social organizations, she was President of the Board of Directors of the Community Health Center in Poland Spring, ME, and on the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Big Brothers/Sisters of Androscoggin County in Lewiston, ME before her retirement. She spent her later years as a childcare provider for many children in Melbourne and Palm Bay, FL. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.At her request she will be interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, ME. There are no calling hours.
