Obituary of Andrea B. Cooley

Andrea “Honie” Ruth Brodersen was born on October 3, 1941 in Hartford, CT and passed away quietly on February 1, 2020 in Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL at 11:30 a.m. surrounded by some of her family. Andrea grew up in Connecticut and attended Keene State University in New Hampshire where she earned her Teaching Degree and then went on to earn her Masters in Special Education at UCONN. She taught Physical Education in the Middletown School system for 33 years. She married Charles Harris Cooley II on August 29, 1964 and had three children and took in two nieces and raised them as well. Andrea had a few passions in life, and they were her family, riding horses and motorcycles. In the last few years of her life surrounded her Husband Chuck and especially her grandchildren. On of her favorite activities was attending every soccer game that she could that her granddaughters participated in. Andrea is predeceased by her father, Stanley Brodersen; mother, Ruth Hinkel and step-father, George; and brother, Bradley Brodersen. He is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles H Cooley II; Son, Charles H Cooley III; Daughter, Tara Leonetti and her husband, John and grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua; Daughter, Lida Pinkham and her husband, Carl; Daughter, Lorraine Daigle and her husband, Jason and grandson Caleb; and Daughter, Kelly Payton and grandchildren, Kalii (great-grandson TJ), Whitney and Michaela. The family will have a private ceremony to celebrate Honie’s Life.
