Obituary of Mary Green Riffe
Mary Green Riffe, a dear soul, passed gently into the presence of the Lord on April 6, 2014. She was born on March 1, 1923 to Alfred and Lauretta Munro. In her younger years she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing alongside her sister Shirley, meeting Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl, and many of the greats of her time. Mary loved to dance and had many trophies and memories she was very proud of and kept on display.
She crocheted many beautiful afghans that were usually given away as gifts. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was one of those rare individuals, so finely tuned that she was capable of great tenderness. You could always find her waiting at home with a big hug and a delicious meal.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Riffe. She is survived by her two daughters Christine Hrytzay and husband Roy, Penny Ruip and husband David; two stepdaughters Judy (Riffe) Kidd and husband Wayne, and Candy (Riffe) Lennon and husband Gordon; sister Shirley Ostman; two grandsons Nick Ruip and wife Jennifer and Dan Ruip and wife Kathrine; and four great grandchildren Anastasia, Austin, Savanna, and Victoria.
She will be forever missed but not forgotten. The world is diminished by her death, but made richer because she lived.
