Obituary of Allen William Gover
Allen William Gover, 82 passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. Allen was born in Fort Worth, Texas October 20, 1934, son of Ira and Ila Gover.
He graduated from North Side High School in 1953. Allen attended Texas Tech University and Arlington State College (now University of Texas at Arlington) on football scholarships. He graduated from TCU in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts, specializing in Chemistry. Allen received his MBA in 1974 from Florida Institute of Technology.
Allen began his Engineering career with Texas Instruments at the dawn of manufacturing integrated circuits and microchips. His career continued at Fairchild Semiconductor, San Jose Ca., Sperry Rand in Fairchild Conn., returning to Texas Instruments in 1965. Allen went to work for Harris Corporation, Melbourne, Fla., in 1971 followed by Documation Corporation, Melbourne Florida. Fulfilling a life long desire to own his own business, he and his wife, Jeri purchased Your House of Interior Design in 1976, changing the name to Your House Interiors. Allen and Jeri worked side by side until they retired and sold Your House Interiors in 2002.
Allen's priorities were Faith, Family and Friends. He trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age, always leading his family in faithful service and attendance at the local Baptist Church. He loved his family and sacrificed to make sure that they had many opportunities that he did not have. Allen was always ready to help a family member or friend, quietly meeting their needs. Allen was a member of the Indialantic Florida Rotary and loved his time serving the community with his Rotary friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, brother,
Don and is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Jeri Gover; children, Valerie Bergstrom, Son-in-law, Mark. Keith Gover, daughter-in-law, Shari. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was affectionately named Two Dad. Grandchildren, Taylor Bergstrom, wife Elisa; Matt Bergstrom, wife Tiffany. Great-Grandchildren, Kate and Bennett; former daughter-in-law, Lisa Gover; brother, Roy Gover, wife Sue; sister-in-law, Kathleen Gover; cousin Ray Lowery, wife Betty. Nieces and nephews, Greg, Deborah, Karen, Roy and Patrick Gover; Debbie Daley, Julie Seigmund, Craig Gardner and Denise Young also many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Health First Hospice -Midway Team and also Dr. Ruiz and the compassionate staff at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay.
Memorial Service, 11 am Friday, October 20 at Eau Gallie First Baptist Church. Visitation at 10 am.
