Obituary of Nancy Lee Stone

Nancy Lee Stone, age 85 entered Heaven’s gates on June, 29th, 2019. She was born on November 24, 1933, in Ligonier, Indiana.  She is predeceased by her first husband, Robert S. Blake Sr. of 35 years; and second husband Bayward Stone; her parents, Virgil and Goldie McKeeman. Nancy moved to Brevard County in 1970 and was a resident of Indialantic. Words cannot express what a beautiful person Nancy was.  She devoted most of her time and energy to her family with whom she was happiest.  Together they enjoyed traveling any where there was water, cookouts, and camping.  God blessed Nancy with four boys, Stephen Robert, Robert Stanley, Gregory Lee and Jeffery Scott, all residents of Florida.  Nancy was an avid card player in her early years and donated her time to Easter Seals and Boy Scouts later. She was very giving with a heart of gold. Nancy was a skilled cook and she would give any chef a run for their money. Her second husband and her had commercial fishing boats and a large hunting camp where she served many great meals. Nancy was the mom of all moms.  She had a special way of keeping the family connected.  Her children she cherished with all her heart and they hers.  She was their best friend, their rock, and their confidant.  Her memories and a part of her will live forever in their hearts.  Nancy was quick-witted, feisty, determined and generous and through her children these traits will live for many generations to come.  She will be missed but in no way will she ever be forgotten. She truly lived life at her own terms. We are all given the gift of life, and one day we all will have to give it back. It is a hard thing to say goodbye to your mom once, let alone twice. It feels like we lost our mom a few years ago when this disease made her relinquish all of her beautiful memories and the mom we once knew. Now we have said our final goodbye and even though, metamorphically speaking, we will meet again, joyfully, on the other side. Nancy is survived by her sons, Steve, Stan, Greg & Jeff, her sisters Delores Koble, Cindy Wick, Dorothy Orthman, brother David McKeeman, 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Nancy ashes will be distributed at sea, where she loved so very much, and return to be with her late husband Bayward Stone. A Celebration of Life to follow on a boat at sea. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Alzheimers Association: https://act.alz.org
