Obituary of Stephen Charles Pearson

Indian Harbour Beach, FL Stephen Charles Pearson, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2019. Stephen and his wife immigrated to the United States in the 60s after completion of his PhD in Chemistry from Bristol University in the UK. He had a long, accomplished career in the mining chemicals industry and has three patents to his credit. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Stephen was an adventurer and moved his family from the East Coast out West in the late 70’s, where they lived in Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. He and his wife moved to Florida to be with their daughter after he suffered a major stroke in 2013. Stephen was someone you could always count on to be there when you needed help; to lend a hand or an ear. He was loving, generous, and had a wonderfully dry sense of humor. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Helen of Indian Harbour Beach; daughter, Sarah Pfeiffer of Melbourne; son, Alex Pearson of Salt Lake City, UT; and grandchildren Kaitlin (Salt Lake City, UT) and Andrew (Farmington, NM). Stephen’s wish was to be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea. A celebration of his life including the scattering of the ashes will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the American Heart Association.
