Obituary of Wilson Mckeckney

Wilson Mckeckney, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25th 2019 at his home. He was born on July 30th, 1939 in St. John, Barbados raised by his mother Elaine Howell. Wilson is survived by his wife Glemmy Mckeckney of 48 years, his children Wynford Mckeckney and Kisha Mckeckney, his grandchildren Nia Clark, Justin Clark and Tiffani Clark and his siblings Harford Howell and Patricia Garcia and all of his nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. As a baptized and confirmed Anglican, Wilson became a prominent member of the church known as Holy Cross Church of Society Hill in St. John. In his early years, he was very active and was involved in his church participated in the local sports such as Cricket and Tennis. Wilson then relocated to St. Vincent in his early 20’s to manage S.P.C.K. book shop, which he then owned and was a prominent staple as it was the leading source of Educational and Religious books on the island. Wilson relocated his family to Brooklyn, New York in the late 1970’s, where he resided for 27 years. He held multiple positions in various companies and retired from New York City transit in 2004. After retirement, he relocated to Palm Bay, FL in 2005 where he settled and enjoyed his grandkids every summer and was very active with his Tennis, Ping Pong and Scrabble friends. Wilson was a loving husband, great father and proud grandfather and will be greatly missed. A service to remember and celebrate his life will be held at 12 Noon, on Saturday, May 4, 2091, at Church of Our Savior, 1000 Jersey Lane NE, Palm Bay FL.
