Obituary of Dolores Mae Stone

Dolores Mae Stone, 92, of Ormond Beach, Florida was called home to the church triumphant on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She was born in Canton, PA on August 12, 1923 and grew up on a dairy farm. She graduated from Canton High School, then attended Shenandoah College and Music Conservatory. In 1948 she moved to Arlington, VA and made her career with the Arlington County Police Department and Arlington County Public Library. She retired to Ormond Beach in 1986. Dolores was a 50 year member of the Sweet Adelines belonging to both the Song of the Coast Chapter in Daytona Beach and the Arlington County VA chapter. She was a member of the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church choir. Dolores enjoyed painting, gardening and puttering around her house. She leaves three nieces, Deena Procopio of Marco Island, FL, Sandra Silver of Vienna, VA and Adrienne Marquart of Indialantic, FL and five great niece/nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dillon and Hazel Stone and her brother Gerald Stone.A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, 105 Amsden Road, Ormond Beach.
