So sorry to hear about this – I’ve got such lovely memories of interviewing Ken in 2013-2014, and hearing all about the “old days” when he and my father, Bob Ross, were young men traveling the world as Diplomatic Couriers. My deepest condolences to you all.

We met Ken and Florence a few years ago in an art class in Eau Gallie Fla during our winter stay in Indialantic right across from Melbourne. We hit it off and spent wonderful dinners at their place and ours.We feel so fortunate to have had them in our lives. They were so warm, bright and funny with a lifetime of great stories. We feel that Ken was one of the finest men we ever met and just wish we had met years ago.Like all who knew him we will miss him dearly and think of him always with a smile. We will stay in touch with Florence. Our best to Hilary

Hilary, what can I say? It is so hard to loose a parent, especially a sweet guy like your dad. I hadn’t seen him in many years but you kept him in my memory. Thanks for letting me know & for all your love & support over the years. What a great man! All best wishes to your mom. Love to you, her & chris. Xo

We met Ken at a TCF picnic for parents who had lost a child. It didn’t take very long before Ken and Florence were two of our dearest friends. We were connected through our grief of child loss, but many other things held us together. Bob was a military officer, and we were stationed for eight years in the Philippines- a connection we loved to talk about. But most of all Ken looked so very much like my father, and had many similar mannerisms. Ken was born and raised in Kansas, graduated from Kansas University, my dad was born and raised in Nebraska graduated from The University of Nebraska. I always felt so very connected to his appearance, his amazing wit, and his down to earth way. Ken will be greatly missed by Bob and me, and forever loved

He was a very sweet man who will be missed by everyone my Dad his younger brother by 10 years looked up to him so much that when he came back from WW11 he had a list of boys that he wanted his big brother to take care of for picking on him. Uncle Ken just smiled and helped my dad work it out. I know that my Dad feels the loss but he is happy to have had his brother for so long! Sending our love to Florence and Hilary

Very nice words about Ken.
Ken was such a fun fellow, and I can honestly hear his laugh right now. I am so pleased I saw him in the last few years staying with Flo in my Mum’s house in Lymington, but without my mum there. We took over the kitchen, and had lots of laughs! I loved his laugh ! And he was an easy-going sailor in his yacht called “Duster” . Ken brings back so many memories, many of when we were kids, messing around and getting in trouble in Lymington marina!
