Obituary of Rose Campanelli Sgroi

Rose Campanelli Sgroi was born May 24, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. She departed this life on September 14, 2018 at home in her Assisted Living Facility in Palm Bay, FL at the age of 90. Rose was a native New Yorker who loved her Italian roots, she loved cooking for her family and friends. Her specialty was eggplant parmesan, Sunday sauce, with meatballs and sausage. Everyone who was invited for dinner was treated to an awesome experience. She loved caring for her children and her home. She always did her own wallpapering, painting and staining solid wood parquet floors. Rose was an experienced seamstress and also worked in the leather industry as a Tanner making wallets, billfolds and picture holders. She loved her job till she retired in 1990. She is preceded in death by her husband Santo, brother Joseph, sister Diana, and grandchild Grace Diane. She leaves behind cherished memories with her sister Marie Campanelli Whelan (Norman) and her brother Salvatore Campanelli (Rosie), her children Salvatore Sgroi (Joanne), Joanne Sgroi Pischiera (Rick). Rose was a proud grandparent of four grandchildren who knew her as “Nana”, Christopher Sgroi (Dominique), Thomas Pischiera (Ginny), Cristina Rose Pischiera Meyer (Jeff), and Thomas Sgroi (Amanda). Rose was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren, Tyler, Gavin, Jaiden, Jace, Jonathan, Carisma, Sicily and Cristoforo. The family will receive friends at: Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care 1001 S Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL 32901 Sunday, September 23, 2018 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a Service by Chaplain Sol at 7 PM.
