Obituary of Edward Paul “Butch” Bauman
Edward Paul “Butch” Bauman died Sunday, December 15, 2019, in his sleep at home at the age of 79.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sylvia Earline (Huie), children, Robert (fiancé, Angela), Rachel (husband, Clyde), and Vernon, sister, Shirley, sister-in-law, Sandra, grandchildren, Robert Jr (wife, Ali), Kristina, and Clyde Michael (wife, Andrea), great children, KayLee, Autumn, Cohen and Addy, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless loved ones who called him “dad” and “grandpa”.
Ed was born on October 24, 1940 in Defiance Ohio to Clyde and Josephine Bauman. After high school he enlisted in the Marines. After leaving the Marines, he enlisted in the Air Force. During the Vietnam War, he transferred to the Army where he retired from military service after 20 years. He always joked he had to retire and didn’t have enough time for the Navy.
After leaving the armed services, he was employed by the United States Postal Service where he retired again after 21 ½ years.
Ed spent his retirement years enjoying life with his family and was known around the Palm Bay area as the ‘man always walking up and down Emerson and Malabar’. His hobbies also include going to Disney World and was a long time annual passholder.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, siblings, George, Mary, Raymond, Irene, Daniel, Katherine, and Wilma, in addition to his brother and sister in laws.
A viewing will be Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, located at 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907.
Edward’s funeral service will be Friday, December 20, 2019 at 10 am at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care.
He will be interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery Monday, December 23, 2019 at 1 pm.
