Obituary of Helen Marie May

Helen Marie May of Titusville, Florida, went to our Lord on Saturday, May 25th 2019 at age 88. Helen was born on May 30th 1930 in Toronto, Canada to Laura Dewsbury-Johnson and Thomas Burns. Helen married the love of her life World War II Veteran, Douglass H. May and was a housewife, and a mother to two boys, Douglas “Dougie” P. May and Kenneth H. May. Along with her husband, Helen was involved in her sons’ sports, scouts and other activities her boys endeavored to participate in. As her sons grew, Helen pursued her desire to become a Registered Nurse and worked for several decades in her profession. She retired having served the medical field with distinction. Helen enjoyed the bowling league with her husband, and had a way of winning at BINGO when spending time with her friends. Helen also enjoyed vacationing overseas with her husband, having visited many countries in their travels. In her later years, Helen lost her eyesight to macular degeneration, but in true form, she adapted to her condition and remained an independent woman, never losing her Spunk or Drive. Helen missed her husband dearly after his passing Dec 24th 2018. As true soul mates our Lord called Helen to reunite with her husband and eldest son having only spent several months apart from both. Helen will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, outstanding medical professional and a friend to the many folks she bowled and played Bingo with. Helen, Doug, and their son Dougie are next to each other at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with our Lord holding them in his loving arms. Helen leaves behind her youngest son, Kenneth Hall May, of Titusville, granddaughters Tiffany, Lindsey, and Kaley May, a niece, and several nephews and siblings.
