Obituary of Maria Carmela Callahan

Maria Carmela Callahan, born in Hartford, CT on February 1, 1937 to Panfilo and Italia (Pace) Cavallaro, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 in Melbourne. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin J. Callahan. Maria loved music and playing the piano especially for family sing-alongs; cooking and sewing. Her happiest moments were when family was together. Her family includes five children: Teresa M. Callahan, Diana M. Callahan, Patricia L. Wooten, John J. Callahan and James P. Callahan. Seven grandchildren: Stephanie L. Callahan (Pablo Mercado), Jonathan W. Leary, Brianna M. Leary Pilling (Christopher Pilling), Daniel J. Callahan, Joseph P. Callahan, Nicklaus A. Callahan, and Evan J. Callahan. Four great grandchildren: Alex M. Parton, Xavier E. Mercado, Emma L. Pilling and Sofia W. Mercado. A sister, Josephine Cavallaro Nolin (William); and two brothers, Elio Cavallaro and Anthony Cavallaro (Debra ) and many nieces and nephews. There will be a calling hour on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. +óGé¼GÇ£ 8:00 p.m. at Ammen Family Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made directly to the family.
